An engineering degree has some benefits

Here's what you can do when you're only given one door access card for your hotel room.

First try using any credit card (or something similar). In our case, we've had to improvise as the slot is much larger. Put two spoons to hold the switch down, and voila! You can now take your key with you, and leave the air con turned on. It's not energy efficient, but it's definitely cool!

I hope it's not dangerous! No electricity running through that thing, right? I don't know I failed miserably out of Electrical & Electronic Engineering!

(Mel, you're continuously commenting first to annoy me, aren't you? :p)

@ranga: I gave you one, didn't I (The ferry one).
And I don't care if I've annoyed you

Dude, that was pretty smart. Much smarter however would just be removing the key from the card by passing it thru the ring 'thingy'. Then the card would be in the slot and you would be carrying your key separate. Marketing boys trump Strategy boys anyday. Heh!

@chanpengli: hah hah, dude, I was sober when I did that. Felt like a dumbass an hour after the feat, but decided to leave the spoons intact to celebrate the eureka moment.
