How to speed up your tax refunds
I just received my tax refund from the Inland Revenue Board (aka income tax / LHDN).
Clincher: in 18 days! That's even better than the publicised commitment of 30 days.
How: e-Filing. Just sign up on their website and you can submit your taxes easily via the web. To encourage citizens to use the web, LHDN is committing to refund all excess tax payments within 14-30 days.
Side note: it's always nice to receive a cheque in the mail box after a weekend of impulsive "buys".

Wow! something impressive from the kerajaan for a change! Good job!
What?????
How come I still have not received mine?? I did mine online too. And submitted way before the deadline. They owe me quite a substantial amount as well.
But congrats to you!
Well maybe I got fast tracked because of the small refund amount.
@TsuLin: have you contacted / emailed them to follow up on the delay?
Berapa you dapat?
I got my refund pretty fast too. I thought it was because it was such a small amount that's why they took so quick hehe... They are quite efficient. I went to the office and they issued a letter for me on the same day! That's bloody amazing for a gov office.
I went to a government office here in Singapore and believe me, it's no different from our gov offices 3-5 years ago. Slow. And I saw so many officers scold their 'customers' - shocking!
You havent been to the traffic police counter at one of the driving school in SG yet. Suddenly you feel like you're back home...
