Nasi Lemak Antarabangsa in Bangsar

Today we're trying the new Nasi Lemak Antarabangsa restaurant in Bangsar. RM2.95 for a nasi lemak "biasa", decent portion of rice in air conditioned comfort. But it's nothing great - food didn't arrive hot, service was poor, and you have to deal with the double parking horns blaring every now and then. Perhaps it's the teething phase - try again in 3 months if they're still around.

I have never tried this outlet but the original shop in Kampung Baru is also having the same problem, the worker there are rude and the food standard has drop bottom low, i think a lot of people has stop visiting them, including some of my friend who use to like the nasi lemak......

Dear anonymous 26.3.09 2.32 am,after being attracted by the nice green signboard I tried the Taman Melati branch and honestly have the following advice if you want to be competitive or stay in business.

On the service portion if the local operators look at McDonald or KFC staff you will definitely learn a thing or two about being fast, efficient and courteous. How do they do it? Must be good training. Therefore in your set up put aside a reasonable budget for staff training.)

Secondly, I have to be sincere here on the food taste and quality.

1. Ikan Bilis with the heads not removed and those black stuff still intact is a big NO NO especially if it is priced at RM2.95. I know you have to budget for the aircon etc, etc but why can't you budget for headless ikan bilis too!

2. The taste, if you really want to taste cheap no frill real nice nasi lemak at RM1.30 per pack there is one at Bulatan Bukit Mas in Taman Melawati. The problem is it opens at 7.30 am and finishes at 8.30am and the queue is long every day for the past 20 years!! If you get them to supply you and you can still make a profit of RM1.60 RM2.90 minus RM1.30!!BTW they use headless ikan bilis.(I am Not trying to sell this mak cik's food or what here, I am just a very very satisfied customer)

In the food industry(if you want to succeed) the basic law is the food MUST TASTE GOOD,the service must be good.

I been to the place most of the time coz I work in Telawi street for my lunch and dinner. I like it there alot!

Their hospitality is above par for telawi street restaurants has to offer. They all always smiled. They greet you everytime you come in! They make you feel welcome!

The food is always nice and warm especially the Ayam Masak Merah! you guys should try it too! It's new from the menu and I like it hot and thats what I got!

The place is clean as well which very important to me. The price is affordable. I brought my friends there and they all like it too. The place is like a must for our lunch time already.

Of course there's always areas to impove. Will let you know when I spot any to share..

Thank you!

Hi, I'm Malaysian staying in singapore since last 3 years. Today I heard this Nasi Lemak Antarabangsa have plan to open outlets overseas. Hope you can open SIngapore outlets very soon because really difficult to find tasty foods here. I visited several popular Nasi Lemak stalls here but the taste is nothing to compare to my wife's Nasi Lemak.

dear myza,
like i said before the price of the nasi lemak in ALL Nasi Lemak Antarabangsa are the same including the ORIGINAL Nasi lemak antarabnagsa at KAMPUNG BARU .. we only charged RM1 extra for the plain nasi lemak..the reason is we serve better ambiance, comfortable dining area, relaxing music, air conditioned, television, astro,

the thing about angkat pinggan is because we want u to have space if let say u want to smoke, read the PROVIDED international magazines or getting ready to order the desserts than u can have the space .. you can always say no to the waiters if u feel like u still want to use the used plate..

the menu will be update stage by stage according to to the demand from the customers, if u feel like u want to add menu in our restaurant, you can always ask the waiters to give you the comment card where you can put all your cooment in there

about the price of the drinks if u think that it is too expensive, there is always air kosong for u which we give F.O.C.

we serve you the same old nasi lemak antarabangsa since 1973 and it is still the same old recipe.

wow.. just on nasi lemak everyone has a comment to place just because everyone feels he/she knows best about it. I do believe that thare are many tastes of nasi lemak one can prepare in variation, let's be fair to NLA (nasi lemak antarabangsa) as it has its own unique taste NLA is trying to expand its wing. Like KFC (not that I am comparing on the same standard, but for the intent and purpose), there are many versions of fried chickens and KFC way is its franchised way all over the world. I solute the idea to make nasi lemak going national or regional or global. It's what they choose to sell it. Ok, about pricing, I have seen nasi lemak priced expensively but it is in a hotel or in restaurants where one would be there only on ocassion. Not trying to deny it, check out the menu from any hotel, you can tell the difference! Try to dine at Secret Recipe, physicologically you don't mind your pocket goes empty just because you expected that!
So, nasi lemak as it used to being packed in RM1.50 per pack cannot be raised its standard? Try the nasi lemak at any mamak's branded outlets, you get the tatse of what you pay for and with addition of chicken on top, I betcha have to pay pricy, I should say. Therefore, at NLA, you get the taste of NLA, only if you like it.
Business has its own unique target group, and there are enough shares in the market for everyone! For once, let's have nasi lemak in a plesantly moderate embient, no sweating, no noise and no longer under the big tree next to the parking area or near big drainage! Go for the change and we should support that so that NLA can optimise the operational costs and everyone can benefit from its creation. For NLA, don't get discouraged, think about Proton, many crazy complaints about the cars but they sell and most of them are on the road. The complainers are the buyers themselves! Think about it, if Proton gave up, by this time, we do not have shares on the automotive market on our own road! I do not want to see all cars on our roads are the Toyotas or Hondas or Bimmers.... Go go go...Nasi Lemak Antarabangsa!

We have heard so much about the famous nasi lemak antarabangsa and was glad that we saw the outlet at Bangsar. We decided to "ta-pau" and eat later at home. I went in the restaurant and went straight to the lady preparing the nasi lemak. Stood there for 5 mins and was practically ignored...so I went to the cashier's counter and came face to face with a "sullen" looking lady and asked if I could "bungkus". She just looked at me and then took my order and after I had paid, she asked me to "duduk". Her face still "sullen" looking. No smile or greetings like..."selamat Petang",Terima kasih...or "sila duduk dan tunggu sekejab". About 10 mins later, she delivered my nasi lemak bungkus...still with the "sullen" look and I said "terima kasih"....BUT..no reply from her. Was wondering who is the customer here? Not going back there again...cannot take such bad customer service and rudeness!
